Back in April (forgot to post it), Isaac learned to ride a bike without training wheels. He tried for a day or so, then gave up, but then started back at it, and this video captures when he got it! And, boy, he got it, because he just kept going and going! Next, a new bike! Just click on the link below.

Destin Trip 2010
In July we took a trip with Grand K and Pappy, and Adam and Lisa and their boys for a week in Destin. We had beautiful weather the entire time, and a wonderful time was had by all!
Here is a picture of Grand K reading to the boys at bed time. She had brought a book called Tum Tum and Nutmeg, which the boys really got into. She would read every night before the kids went to bed. She didn't get very far in the book, so she gave it to us to bring home. I have continued to read it to them and we love it. It is such a great book, about two mice and their adventures in the house where they live.

As you can see, even Adam was totally loving every minute of it.

We spent every morning at the beach until about lunch time. Here Joshua, Isaac, and Noah taking a little breather from all the fun they were having.

Taking it all in...

Meanwhile, this is what Elijah did the entire time.

Or getting buried is pretty relaxing after all that boogie-boarding.

Little Joshua probably saying "cheese." This was one of the only days where there was a storm close by, but it never rained on us. It was beautiful watching it go its way.

A family shot behind one of the many sand castles/towns that was built by Daddy and the boys.

The night before we left to come home, we all stopped by and got ice cream. Yum!!!

The morning we left, we stopped by The Track and gave the boys their first opportunity to drive/ride on a go cart. As you may know, Isaac is one of Nascar's biggest fans, and says he wants to be a race car driver when he grows up. So, maybe this is his big start!!

And Elijah loves it too, and got a fun chance to race!

Lastly, our attempt at getting a beach shot of the boys with some kind of coordination of clothing. They turned out okay, but the camera is not working well, so they are kind of fuzzy. This one is my favorite, and below that are a few shots that show my silly boys' personalities. The last one, a shot of just Jason and me.

We had a super time, and are thankful for the Lord's blessings on us to allow us to have rest and fun with a vacation with family.

Storms and Flowers
I wanted to post a few random pics. The first one's for you, Mom J! Here's the beautiful hydrangea from the little bitty sapling you brought me a few years ago. This is the first year it's bloomed out and it was magnificent! I enjoyed it the few weeks it was blooming. Thank you!

The next two pictures are some I took of a storm moving quickly toward us. The clouds looked very ominous and soon after we got a downpour!
Looked like a tornado was trying to form (this is the view from our front porch), but there were no warnings or anything. Scary, anyway!

Summer of Baseball
Like last year (even with Isaac's broken collar bone), Elijah and Isaac played ball again this year. They both moved up to the next age bracket: Elijah moving to coach-pitch baseball, and Isaac t-ball with coach pitch at the end of the season. It was a lot of fun watching the boys improve on their skills. We were at the ball field A LOT (sometimes 3 times a week), but had a great time. I realized while posting this that I for some reason didn't take pictures of Elijah actually playing (sorry, E!). I guess every time I remembered to bring the camera it was for Isaac's games!

Isaac with cousin Noah. They had a great time being on the same team again this year.

Elijah with his team for their end of season party--not a super picture--but Elijah is sitting on the right side with the sunlight on his face.

Zoo Time with Friends
In May I took the boys to the zoo with a long-time friend of mine, Sarah, and her kids. We hadn't seen each other in a few years, and it was fabulous to spend time with her and her kids again. It was a very hot day but we had a blast.
You know how much Elijah loves to read? Here he is reading to a goat. Looks like the goat is listening, too.

Thank goodness they have hand cleaner when you walk out of the petting zoo.

Alligator Cove: creepy! But, the boys sure thought it was cool.

My boys with Sarah's kids, Jacob and Elizabeth, taking a breather and playing at the big playground.

I guess I always assumed that giraffes pretty much just ate leaves off of trees, because they are so tall. Here is one bending down to eat grass. It looked so funny!

Race Day
Back in April we took the boys to see a Nascar Nationwide series race at the Nashville Superspeedway. It started out stormy in the morning, but became a beautiful sunny day for the race. The boys were totally excited to see all the cars, and watch them race.
Pappy and Grand K joined us along with some great friends, the Rehbines.
Here Pappy with the boys ready for the race to start.

\
A shot of one end of the track.

We had heard that racing is super loud, and we found this little fact to be VERY true! When we first got there, they were doing the qualifying, one car going around at a time, and even when they would zoom by the stands it would make your ears hurt! So, when the race started (40 or so cars) there was hardly anyone without ear protection.

Easter 2010
Easter this year started off with an egg dye and decoration with Nana and D-Dah at the lake. There's nothing like 3 very dirty boys who have been playing at the lake getting dye all over their hands (and mouth in the case of Joshua). Then they hunt for them. They love this tradition with their grandparents!

Easter Sunday we went to Melea's parents house for a family get together. Here are the boys still in their nice clothes before the egg hunt.

Peek-a-boo!
The two little ones were fascinated by sitting in the grass and getting to hold the pretty colored plastic eggs. They were very cute together!
Most of all, more than any egg hunts, we love this day as we celebrate the glory of Christ being raised from the dead to show his power over death. We are ever so grateful for our Savior who has paid our debt for sin, was raised back to life, and lives forever and is worthy of our worship. What a Savior!
